My
goal as an artist is to achieve purity of form.
I speak in a visual language that relates to the changing forms
I see and to the emotions that these images evoke. I
am an active observer of objects and spaces around me.
I
have found that there are certain forms that feed my soul. They
are common objects; a window in a cupola, the components of
a steeple, smooth rocks in a river, a buoy. I translate the
strength of each image into shapes that recall the original
form, but may not be directly identifiable. In nature, time's
effect on these forms fascinates me. The vehicle time uses;
water, wind, sunlight, human usage changes them constantly.
It makes two rocks merge into one, wears down edges of an old
stair, separates the parts of a flower bud. Nature creates purity
of form. I strive to capture this tranquility and tension in
the objects I create.
