Some
information about the Dippers
I like to think of these pots like rocks in a river that have
been sitting next to eachother for so long that they have worn
into each other. I only glaze the insides of the bowls blue
to give a watery feel to the "rocks" and to make them
more functional for food usage. I leave the outside unglazed
so that the user can enjoy the uniqueness of the clay bodies
and feel the stoney texture when handling them. Each bowl set
has its own personality, they are made by hand, not a machine!
Clays can vary in color as well as the intesity of the blue
glaze. The sizes of the pieces change a bit, though the dimensions
shown are a good approximate for the price. I can make them
bigger or smaller and the price will vary accordingly. I actually
weigh each pot set to price them.
The Sculpture is available for purchase and can be commissioned
individually. See the Artist's Statement section for the roots
of my inspiration for making them. Because of the amount of
variables when working with clay and glazes, please be somewhat
flexible with the clay and glaze colors when ordering a piece.
